PROPLETE®

PROPLETE® is a new line of patent-pending Intradialytic Parenteral Nutrition (IDPN) solutions uniquely formulated to meet the needs of the protein malnourished hemodialysis patient who consumes adequate calories but inadequate protein. Because additional calories are not necessary for this type of patient, PROPLETE® contains no lipid and lower amounts of carbohydrate (dextrose) as compared to traditional IDPN. Protein is provided in amounts adequate to compensate for inadequate intake and promote new protein and tissue synthesis.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS WITH PROPLETE®
Due to its unique formulation, PROPLETE® has specific advantages for:

• PATIENTS WITH DIABETES
  Traditional formulations for IDPN often require close supervision of blood glucose for patients with Diabetes and may require insulin administration. The unique low dextrose formulation of PROPLETE® provides an option for these patients and may make managing their glucose easier.

• PATIENTS WITH FLUID MANAGEMENT PROBLEMS
  Another benefit to the design of PROPLETE® is its low volume. This makes PROPLETE® a favorable option for those patients with fluid management problems such as those with advanced cardiac or hepatic disease or those with high interdialytic fluid gains.

• OVERWEIGHT/OBESE PATIENTS or PATIENTS WITH ELEVATED BLOOD LIPID LEVELS
  Patients who are overweight or obese do not require additional calories. Patients with elevated blood lipid levels may not benefit from the addition of lipids. In both of these situations, this low carbohydrate no lipid formula is a favorable option.

PROPLETE® PLUS
Pentec Health also provides formulas for patients with calorie or protein/calorie malnutrition called PROPLETE® Plus. This line of formulas contains higher dextrose (formulas for those requiring carbohydrate control and formulas for those who do not) and lipid. They also contain protein in amounts adequate to compensate for inadequate intake and promote new protein and tissue synthesis

PROPLETE® IPN
Pentec Health also offers intraperitoneal nutrition formulas for the malnourished peritoneal patients. These formulas contain dextrose and protein in amounts adequate to compensate for inadequate intake and promote new protein and tissue synthesis
